All children develop and grow at their own pace, achieving milestones such as talking, sitting up, crawling and walking. When the child’s development milestones are delayed raising concerns that may require attention and intervention, they are called red flags.
If these concerns are not addressed early on, they may develop into specific special needs conditions as the child grows. This module helps gain knowledge about the key developmental areas and the importance of the holistic development of children. It will provide learners with an insight into how a typical child grows, what are the milestones and red flags, and the impact of delay on the child.
The challenges faced by the stakeholders involved in the development of a child are also discussed.
When children grow and develop at their own pace, there is a normal range in which children reach developmental milestones. Failure to reach these milestones is an indication of a delay in the development and is considered as the “red flag or at-risk signs.’
Ever wondered what would happen if these red flags are ignored or missed?
This module is to give an idea of what would happen if the red flag signs are not addressed. If no early interventions are provided based on the red flags signs, it may lead to the development of a disability or disorder that affects a child’s holistic development throughout his/her life span.
This module will throw light on the various types of disabilities and special needs conditions that affect a child’s growth and development. It will also give an overview of unique challenges faced by Children with Special Needs and highlight the importance of Early Identification and Intervention Formulation. Tools, techniques and appropriate interventions to support children with specific conditions will also be discussed.
Children spend most of their waking hours in school and there are so many opportunities that a school can do to support and facilitate children’s holistic development.
This module focuses on a ‘Whole-school Approach’ that promotes an inclusive culture in the mainstream school environment. It starts with focusing on the soul of every school, the soul that creates magic in the lives of children in their every school day. It will then lay down the pathway for setting up an inclusive school, sharing the importance of setting up a student support services department to cater to diverse learners and their respective unique needs as well as the tricks to improve collaboration across all stakeholders.
Children with academic difficulties often go unnoticed or are being misunderstood as lazy, uninterested, etc. Without proper identification and support, these children may miss the opportunity to reach their full potential.
In this module, the focus is learning the various common academic challenges faced by children with learning difficulties in mainstream schools, along with appropriate screening and assessment.
Classification of Academic Challenges
Identification & Assessment
Teachers and parents of special needs children are always looking for new resources and ideas to help their students/children succeed academically. And sometimes, these resources are not readily available.
There are many reasons why students/children with learning challenges often face difficulties in their academic skills. In this module, Expert Practitioners will be sharing proven, and practice-based strategies and techniques, as well as resources that can be used to help students/children with learning challenges, overcome difficulties in their academic skills.
The strategies and techniques include Cognitive Intervention to Remedial English and Math and devising a plan to help every individual child/student.

Remedial Math Intervention
An Effective Academic Intervention Plan
In our earlier modules, we discussed how academic challenges can impair a child’s academic performance and development. However, there are diverse remedial strategies that can be employed to overcome these challenges and facilitate the development of cognitive and academic skills in children with special needs.
In this module, we will explore in detail the diverse behavioural challenges faced by children with special needs and how these challenging behaviours impact their learning and development along with disrupting the classroom environment at large. We will also discuss the tools that can be used to identify the root causes of these challenging behaviours.
This module will equip educators with the knowledge to identify different challenging behaviours based on the children’s red flag signs and also recognise the possible reasons or functions of the behaviour.
Classification of Behavioural Challenges
Assessment & Identification
Children improve when they feel accepted and secure.
Research has shown that interventions designed to promote general social, emotional, and behavioural competence of children with special needs are more effective than those not addressing these factors. Interventions which target these factors not only help the child to better cope in school and daily life but also help parents/educators to deal with their child’s/student’s behaviour and other people to interact positively with the child/student.
In this module, Expert Speakers will be covering evidence-based strategies and interventions that can be adopted to exponentially improve the motivation and performance of children/students in mainstream schools.
Strategies and Interventions
An Effective Behavioural Treatment Plan
The development of speech and language skills are essential for communication and expression. They are crucial skills to attain at the early stage of life. Children with speech and language difficulties have problems listening to spoken language and this impacts their development in terms of language and communication and also the higher-order skills of reading and writing.
This module will focus on unique Speech and Language challenges faced by Children with Special Needs, the strategies and techniques to improve the skills and engagement, and support such as accommodations and adaptations that educators and caregivers can adopt to support this group of children.
Educators may come across children who do not want to participate in certain activities no matter how interesting they can be. They may feel stuck in their approaches and are unsure what more can be done to help and support these children.
This module will touch on the role of gross and fine motor skills in learning and development, the unique challenges faced by children with gross and fine motor delays or difficulties and their impacts on academic performance and learning outcomes.
This module will also cover various classroom accommodation and adaptation strategies, with the aim to help educators modify their learning environment to facilitate better learning outcomes for all children.
Every child is unique and hence, challenges faced by each of them differ. The ability of educators to prioritize the intervention for each child is the key to successful management of the challenges. This can dramatically improve the chance of each child achieving their full potential.
This module comprises of interactive sessions designed to help learners consolidate all learnings from the complete program and work with Expert Practitioners on the applications through real-life case studies.

The webinar is so informative. The topics will absolutely help the parents on how to deal with the behaviour of their children. Sometimes parents misinterpret behaviors of their children. The techniques mentioned in the webinar are really a big help to the parents.
Very helpful for us as educators to understand the children's characteristics and pave way for their bright future.
I have worked with kids with special needs and it gave me work satisfaction to continue working for them. Thank you the presenter for this webinar which has helped to explore many new ways to help parents and solving their everyday problems. Thanking Eblity as well for making this platform to clear our doubts in the pandemic time.
Eblity brings experts across the globe to our living room in the form of carefully planned and excellently delivered webinars.
The pandemic has cut off therapy services for many children. So these webinars are very useful to work with our children at home on their speech, motor skills, behavior, literacy, numeracy etc.
Love being a member of Eblity as I get to learn from world class therapists.
After becoming a member at Eblity, I have gained a lot of knowledge about special needs. The content of the webinars/workshops and the speakers are very good. Eblity offers certificates of participation for every webinar and workshop session. The e-materials and webinars/workshops recordings can be viewed at any time on the Eblity platform.
My son is almost an adult now and I have been immersed in the special needs community for a long time. For me, these things stand out with Eblity. One, the quality of the speakers and the seminars. I can sense that it’s a curated list of accomplished and experienced experts and that a lot of effort has gone in making the sessions very informative but simple. Second, the facility for parents and therapists to ask questions from the experts. I can not even dream of having such privileged access. I would really encourage parents to join. I am sure you would thank Eblity.
Being a special educator for the last 25 years, I was looking for a group who will conduct programmes very relevant to the needs of children with diverse needs.
I found Eblity doing the above to help all who are trying to bring out the best in every special child. I enjoyed attending the Eblity programmes with clear and concise information in simple language and technical terms.
I would highly recommend Eblity programmes to parents, teachers and other professionals working with special needs children.
I started joining Eblity webinars and workshop sessions in October 2020. I am working in a special school as a Teacher Aid.
